The Asian Studies majors successfully petition the college to reinstate the fourth-year Japanese class. According to then Assistant Professor of Japanese Emiko Konomi, the CEP originally allocated 3 FTEs to the Japanese program, but the reduction to 2.5 FTEs and a larger than usual number of students signing up to take the class forced the department to cancel.
